Volunteer Opportunities
The PAC is in need of volunteers middle school-aged and up to help support the center. No matter what your interests or level of experience, there's a place for everyone.
Interested in volunteering at the PAC?
Students, parents, and/or community members who would like to volunteer at the Germantown Performing Arts Center for any of our upcoming productions need to complete this form. Training is provided as needed. Please fill out a form for each individual who would like to volunteer.
If you have any questions, please contact Heather Pulkowski - PAC Coordinator, hpulkowski@gsdwi.org
Usher
Ushers help guests as they arrive for events by taking tickets and helping guests find their seats. They help check the auditorium at the conclusion of an event for garbage and forgotten items. For most of our events, ushers are assigned free seats in the auditorium to watch the show. Ushering is open to those middle school-aged and older. Ushers receive training on arrival before the event. Ushering is the most common volunteer choice for those new to our theatre.
Concessions
Concessions volunteers are responsible for selling snacks and drinks in the concessions area. The PAC Coordinator trains all helpers prior to an event. Proceeds from the concessions area support various school organizations. Concessions volunteers can request a free seat in the auditorium to watch the show they are volunteering for. Cashiers must be 18 or older.
Box Office
Box Office volunteers are responsible for selling tickets and answering phone calls right before an event. Most tickets for our shows are sold online in advance, and the box office volunteer mainly serves to exchange or refund tickets as we are able. Training takes about 30 minutes and is usually arranged with the PAC Coordinator a day or two before the event you are volunteering for. Free seats in the auditorium can be reserved for box office volunteers to watch the performance, but please note that those serving in the box office typically miss the first 5–15 minutes of a show. Box office helpers must be 18 or older.
Soundboard Operator
Soundboard operators manage volume levels in the auditorium and turn microphones on and off as needed. Sometimes music tracks are played from a computer. Equipment is set up prior to arrival. The PAC Coordinator trains all board ops prior to each event and remains in the booth to assist and supervise as needed. Volunteers for sound must be of high school age or older; no prior experience is necessary.
Lightboard Operator
For most events at the PAC, the lightboard operator uses fader buttons to turn lights on and off during an event. Sometimes the board op can select the colors used in the background. The lighting is programmed and set up prior to arrival. The PAC Coordinator trains all board ops prior to each event and remains in the booth to assist and supervise as needed. Volunteers for lighting must be of high school age or older; no prior experience is necessary.
