CelebrateCongratulations to Germantown Baseball Coach Jay Wojcinski as he will be inducted into the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in February!

Jay Wojcinski has spent 25 years as a Head Coach. He has coached at Waukesha South, Greendale, Milwaukee Madison University School, Whitefish Bay, and Germantown. Currently his record stands at 499-262. Wojcinski’s teams have won nine Conference Championships. They have played in Sectionals nine times and reached State Tournament twice. In 2023 Wojcinski’s Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes took home the Gold Ball. Wojcinski began the Whitefish Bay Junior Dukes program in 2009. He has been a member of the WBCA for nearly 30 years. As a testament to his leadership, every program that he has coached has posted a winning record.

PomsLast weekend the Warchix competed at Watertown and had some great performances! They placed 4th in Kick, 3rd in Jazz and 2nd in pom! They were only 4 points away from being the top scorer in pom! Great job Warchix! 

PomsPomsSwimGermantown Varsity Boys’ Swim competed hard in their Barracuda Invite at Brookfield Central High School last week Saturday. 

The 200 Medley A Relay of Gabe Garves, Connor Warmke, Jayden Knight, and Daniel Xu placed 11th in the event while the B Medley relay of Tyler Kirsch, Amay Desai, Jacob Osterbeck, and Maddox Prahl placed 13th!

Individual event scorers came from Warmke in the 50 Free (14th), 50 Breast (T-9th), 100 Breast (11th). Xu took a 14th place finish in the 100 Fly while Garves also had a 14th place finish in his 100 Individual Medley. Knight also managed a 16th place finish for both the 50 Backstroke and 100 Individual Medley.

The highest scoring race of the day came from the 8th place 200 Freestyle A Relay of Xu, Osterbeck, Garves, and Warmke! Also scoring in this event was the 11th place 200 Freestyle B relay of M. Prahl, Desai, Aiden Kreitzer, and Kirsch.

The 400 Freestyle Relay had scoring relay teams of Osterbeck, Xu, M. Prahl, and Knight placing 12th, and Desai, Kirsch, Isaiah Prahl, and Kreitzer taking 14th!

The GHS Varsity and Junior Varsity Boys Swim teams also hosted their first home dual meet last night against Wauwatosa East/West Co-op and did GREAT!! The team also celebrated their parents at Parent's Night!

SwimSwimswimswimswimGBBThe girls’ basketball team defeated West Allis Hale on Tuesday 83-27. Danica Gosz led the way with 21 points and 8 steals. Teigan Stuve had 11 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals in the win, while Addison Braidigan had 10 points. Madeline Jakusz and Madelyn Andrus each had 8 rebounds. Lily Orlowski contributed 4 steals to the winning effort, as Maddie Stocks had 9 points and 3 assists.

BBallThe boys’ basketball team beat Wauwatosa East December 13th on Youth Night 73-58.  Cahlil Jones had another strong outing with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals.  Darrius Peete had 18 and JJ Walters had 12 points and they both added 5 rebounds.  

The Warhawks earned a decisive 87-47 win over West Allis Hale on Tuesday, December 17th.  Payton Laabs played some exceptional defense in the victory.  JJ Walters led the way with 21 points.  Austin Grass had 12 points and Cahlil Jones poured in 19 points with 7 steals.  

The boys host Marquette tonight at 7 p.m. in the fieldhouse.  Come out and support them!

hockeyBears Hockey traveled to Waukesha for a conference game on Tuesday. Waukesha jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after scoring on a power play in the first period. The Bears rallied back, scoring a power play goal that was assisted by Trevor Newkirk and an even strength goal assisted by Reid Newkirk. In the 2nd period the Bears scored 3 more power play goals as well as an even strength goal. Reid Newkirk scored one of the goals and had an assist on the other 3. Trevor Newkirk also had 3 assists in the 2nd period. Waukesha scored 1 goal to make it a 6-2 game. In the third period Reid Newkirk scored the lone goal for the Bears and was assisted by Trevor Newkirk. Waukesha scored a couple late goals on a 5 minute power play, the game ended in a 7-4 victory. The Bears are currently undefeated in the Classic 8 conference at 3-0, 4-1 overall.  Keep up the good work!

wrestlingThe wrestling team defeated Marquette 77 to 6 last week and West Allis Nathan Hale 42 to 41 in last night's match-up! The middle school team also wrestled prior to the varsity match last night to give them some experience wrestling in the high school setting. Overall, it was a great night for Germantown wrestling!
