The Germantown DECA Team (DECA_8) participated in their Regional Competition in early January and had another outstanding year. It really is so much fun watching the students take what they have been learning in so many different business and marketing classes and apply it in this way.
For those that might not be familiar, DECA provides students the opportunity to both demonstrate their understanding of a specific area of business and marketing in both taking a written test on the topics as well as solving real world business problems.
Students work individually or in small teams to complete “role plays” where they present their solutions to business professionals in the field and are evaluated on their work. Awards are given to students on their testing performance, role play performance, and an overall score.
Nearly 60 students participated this year and 21 qualified for State Competition in Lake Geneva based on their overall performance at Regionals. Additionally, over 40 students were recognized at the Regional Conference for outstanding performance. Below are the students who qualified for State DECA.
